Justin Encounters - Chapter 23 (Jet Magazine 5th yr anniversary party 30/8/2007' )

It's my pleasure to be invited for this function which Justin is one of the Jet icon. This reminds me of the East touch magazine party of last year tho, a very much similar event. I didn't know what time Justin arrived but my friends were knocking at the window of the restaurant to make sure that I know he's already here. However, I intended to say hello to him but as I was going around, I couldn't spot him. Oops, later I found out he was sitting down at the sofa & that's why. At17 was the singing guests for this evening & as I was concentrating on their performance, my colleague told me Justin was standing right at the bar by himself. I turned around , & yessss, I saw him (hahaa). He was the 3rd 1 to be on stage to get the award & said Harlem is the one he would like to work with next (Justin was 1 of his concert's guests earlier) . U know each time watching Justin getting awards on stage (whichever awards he's getting) , I feel happy for him. Especially if I'm able to be present at that occasion, I feel participated as being part of it by giving my greatest applause. I guess if u r supporting some1, it's a joy of seeing him being recognised. The same feeling aroused as I was there for OGS Sydney, which I was able to witness the response of the audience when he finished each song. It's great & it's touching. O, by the way, the photo at the Sydney autograph session finally arrived (I just don't understand how come it takes sooo long for Redbox to organise this? It has taken total of 3 months. My goodness!) I was too eager to get Justin's autograph on this very precious photo in my collection, & guess I was the only 1 at the party who asked him to sign, hahaa. He did it. O, thank you Justin, u r a star!

When he left, there r some other fans waiting outside & after finishing all his interviews, he's patiently taking all these photos with each & every 1 of us. He did 1 with my colleague, whom I brought along with & who's the 1st time to watch Justin so close up. Her comment is he's just far tooo nice. And I said, 'yesss... that's something I want u to know & now u get to find out yrself. He's definitely not some1 as being described in the newspaper!' For me, I never think it's fair if u make a conclusion of somebody with just a piece of rumour & indirect quotation. U will only get to know someone when u actually encounter them, by bits & pieces, & u only get to see more clearly in time. Sooo, don't ever make rush & false judgements sometimes.

The next time which I shall be able to see Justin again , guess it will be at Leo Ku's concert coming up :))

Justin Encounters - Chapter 22 ( RTHK Solar Project 25/8/2007')

It is held in this place by the name of 'Aberdeen Sports Ground' , in fact nearby where I used to live when I was a kid. There r more than 20 artists , & Justin is being 1 of them. There were 70 tickets being offered to us members. I did a very weird thing this time. I counted the enrolling list which there r only 28 names. Last year there were 200 tickets being offered (Justin was singing the theme song ) & there were 126 members enrolled for the function. Wel..... do these figures indicate something? Has that 'Justin heat' cooled down? Or is it becoz it's been quite a long time since his last album? Or most of his fans are young kids whose emotions r not that everlasting? In fact 1 of my companions said she's not coming, the reason is the wheather's too hot, the venue was too far & it's not justified for travelling all that way for just hearing him sing 1 song. I told her , 'u show up for yr support, does that really matter he sings 1, 2 or 3 songs??? Too hot or too far is not an excuse.' It's the same theory as his car stops or wouldn't stop, would there be photos or autographs? Pls remember ~~~ these r always bonus. Take them happily if they happen. But if they don't , that's not a big deal.

Justin showed up in a yellow cap. It's the 1st time I ever saw him wearing a yellow 1. And I find out it's a gift fr 1 of the fans. In fact I know it does make someone's day whenever he wears, whether it would be a necklace, or a t- shirt, or a cap if it's a present given by the fanz. It's a sign of appreciation u know. He's standing right in the middle at the opening & did wave to us at 1 time. R position that night r pretty far so we mainly watched the screen. We quickly left to the carpark after he finished, knowing that he wouldn't stop the car but at least waving r goodbye. We saw all these gold label's company cars getting inside the VIP area, but didn't know which 1 Justin would leave with. The 1st one came out, u see all these cars have shadowed windows & curtains & even me who I believe have good eyesight couldn't really see what's inside thou. But I spotted some1 with a cap, so we waved. Believe me, Justin is someone whom I wave the most goodbye to (hahahaa). I got a feeling that the car may need to u turn to get back to the tunnel, so asked the rest 'let's wait for a few minutes'. Yessss, it did.....& when the car went by, Justin pulled off the curtain & opened the window, waving his goodbye. This already meant a lot to us, really. Sometimes it's this kind of interaction which keeps us going & we do appreciate his appreciations. What I call 'what goes around comes around' ~~~ , jot it down in yr diary! :))

Justin, Gary Cao and Oscar were at the filming of “TVB8 火爆音樂會” the night before. Justin revealed that he and Gary Cao had already known each other earlier, and the two of them went to sing karaoke before. Next week the two of them will be in Malaysia for a press conference.

Regarding the issue about Paco Wong saying that he often doesn’t know how to face the media, Justin laughed and said, “I don’t know how to lie, that’s why I always “賴” (“lai”, in this case, I guess it means something like attract bad things?) things, but Paco does really “錫” (“sak”) me. He helped me cleared up a lot of things in “志雲飯局” (i think it's an event or something by 陳志雲 (Steven Chan). He is some TVB guy i guess. One of those top, important tvb people...). There are times when I’m a little straightforward. I will use music to clear things up. Paco and Mark Lui taught me that when I talk, I should smile more, and shouldn’t look around or else people will think I’m not sincere”.

Justin also expressed that he has to learn to treat people with respect, and have to understand that EQ is more important that IQ. He said, “I improved a little already, I will think before I talk".

Justin Encounters - Chapter 21 ( TVB8 火爆音樂會 24/8/2007' )

I didn't know who r the other artists for this show besides Justin when I enrolled for this function. But got a feeling that there may be Gary Cao since it is a Mandarin channel. Oops, when we got there, we learnt that there would be only 3 guests - Justin, Gary & a guy called Oscar. I was thrilled coz I've been long expecting to watch Gary live again since Bravo Justin music party. And I'm also expecting they would sing together an English song.

It's a recording programme so we got the chance to watch what's behind the scene. Justin showed up in his moov live promo photo jacket (a very classic vintage look jacket). When Gary was performing, he was cheeky & sat on the 1st row pretending to be audience, yelling & cheering up for his good friend. Gary's fans r jussst great & they really screamed their head off. Please excuse me to spare a few secs to talk about Gary. Now I must be frank, he is stunning. I haven't bought any of his cds so far (I will) but did listen to his songs thru youtube as to get some ideas. And this is the 2nd time watching him live, most of his r mandarin songs thou. He is now starting to compose the Cantonese ones. But last night he was singing this English song 'My way' ~~~ goodness me, he sang both the man & woman voices (is this called 'duet' or?? sorry, I don't know what's it called). Absolutely Stunning!!! Then it's more stunning, he + Justin sang together, 'Hard to say I'm sorry'. (O, before Justin went on stage, he asked us to cheer up for him really loud. And we tried very hard, I saw him giggling, haha). Words just cannot describe how gorgeous it is of the chemistry when the 2 gentlemen sing together. At that moment I was thinking they should hold a concert together really. And also this funny thought came into my mind , if they were a couple, it may have worked.

OK, then followed by .... Justin , singing his 1st Mandarin song '路人甲'. This reminded me a month ago, in Guangzhou, the 1st time that he ever performed this song. And tonight, being at the other side of the earth, listening to the same person singing this song again. It's my honour to be the only 1 among the audience who listened to it live the 2nd time. He sang it twice tonight. However, don't know why, I feel the saddness inside him when he delivers this song, 3 times I heard, 3 times I felt the same. For those of u who know Mandarin, take a look at the lyrics of this one when the new album is released. My interpretation , the story is someone who is scared of loving again..........

It's Gary's turn to sit at the audience this time to cheer up for Justin. U can feel their friendship, that warm friendship in the air. They r pretty much similar, their styles & everything. But I find Gary is more shy. At the beginning of the show, Justin said for these days while Gary's staying in HK, they always go karaoke & hotpot (this is my most favourite too coz I reckon it feels warm to sit around at the hot pot with yr beloved companions & with all these food + fresh red chillis + garlic, haha). When the show ended, with the background closing music, Justin was shaking his legs pretending Elvis Presley (hahahaahaa).

He said he would stop the car, sooo we had 1 group photo taken. I couldn't resist the wish of taking a pic with Gary, so I went over to his car & asked , 'can I have a pic with u?' He replied without hesitation & very politely, 'u can!' I also told him he was just brilliant. Guess we should also give compliments to someone when they deserve it. If Justin is the no 1 sweetest on earth, I would say Gary should be the no 2. This name, highly recommended!

It was indeed a wonderful Friday evening!!!

Justin Encounters - Chapter 20 (HK International Airport 19/8/2007')

Strictly speaking, it's the 1st time I ever did this, seeing Justin off at the airport (he's flying off to Malaysia for being 1 of the guest of a TVB8 programme). For my occupation, airport is a place that I frequently visit. However, personally it's also a place that I have mixed feelings, coz it's a place always to say goodbye :)) But feel like doing it this time, so I went.

There r about 15 of us, some who have been waiting already the previous night becoz of the early flight (O O). In fact I have been struggling if I could get up that early (0530) but eventually I made it. Some fans waited eagerly outside at the entrance , just to make sure catching Justin's car when he arrived. And me + some other fans were inside. In fact checking out his flight schedule is not something difficult for me but I scarcely do it, but this time an exception. Malaysian fans are dying to see him since the x'mas concert & I also want them to give him the biggest 'welcome back again'.....(imgaine when u step out to the arrival hall, & u have someone waiting & greeting u, how sweet ). Anyhow, he came around 0820. I saw Elaine stepped in 1st with the trolley. Then followed by Justin accompanied by a group of fans. I said 'good morning' (it feels funny that it's the 1st time I ever get the chance to speak good morning to him, pretty funny). He looked at me & didn't respond, oops! 'R u awake, Justin?' or 'U just want to fly quietly without anybody saying goodbye at the airport?' (I was thinking at my head??) Anyhow, we walked him to the check in counter. We took turns for photos & autographs, fans kept asking him questions (He said he only had 2 hrs' sleep). After my turn, I was standing far behind watching...... a girl came to me & said 'I should be learning fr u, u like watching Justin fr far & stay as calm '. Ummm, I guess yesss, besides concerts that I would go nuts , most of the time I'm concerned that I may disturb him. Cause I think afterall he's a normal person as we r (it's just his job is an artist), so he has normal feelings/emotions as we have. I'm some1 who cares much about people's feelings. Soo, after getting autographs & pics (I wouldn't mind these much really but they sometimes make my day) , I would prefer & enjoy watching Justin fr far quietly & it's interesting to see sometimes how people r nagging him & even losing their head/mind when seeing him, hahaa. Sory, I don't mean to be rude but that's sometimes the case.

He said goodbye at the departing area. In fact I could go inside & waved my last goodbye at the departing gate (with my restricted area pass) but ..... didn't feel appropriate to do that this time , maybe 1 day, on some special days :))

Justin Encounters - Chapter 19 ( Hennessy Artistry - Guangzhou Halo, 4/8/2007')

It's quite an interesting & awkward story of how I eventually got hold of tickets to this exclusive event which they r not for sale ...... 1st of all , I would much want to extend my greatest appreciation to Tony of Hennessy, 4 yr kindness :)) . And just to remind u what I said before, 'when there's a will, there's a way'... things always turn out to be least expected.

I was full of excitement to take part in this. It's a long time that I haven't been to party of this kind which I used to, so I reminded everybody to dress up for this special evening. While we were waiting to get in, we were having fun taking turns to have pics with this big poster outside the venue, of course having a big big Justin close up, haha. Eventually we got in the cocktail area at about 1930. Wowww, they were serving various kinds of Hennessy mix drinks + unlimited supply of delicious nibbles.... fr scallops to lobster skewers ( all my favourite seafoods ). We still had to wait for another 1 hr b 4 we could actually got into the stage area which hid behind a big black curtain. Sooo, I was making sure the light banner I brought along with Justin's name worked. At the same time, I was tempted to try out those various cocktails. U know in this kind of occasions, u always get the chance of being approached (let's skip this part, haha). Anyway, the fact that we got to make sure we'll get the best position to watch Justin, we were so eager & funny that we were nagging the security to let us go in 1st. Of course the answer is 'no' :)).

Anyhow, the time came & we walked in, standing right in the middle of the stage. I gave out the glowsticks I brought with. There's totall 11 of us, HK + Guangzhou fans mix. The show started with a DJ by the name of Ms Sky Nellor, geee, she is tall, slim & stylish. Then we had a band 'Grand Avenue' playing some sort of rock music which I'm not that intersted in. But even so, it's a kind of politeness to cheer up for them. I guess the singer spotted my enthusiasm & he came down, I shaked his hand. Justin came out & started off with '決戰二世祖'( reggae version) . Wowww, the whole atmosphere has heated up. Then followed by 'Erica' (he has been repeatedly singing this song lately), '情歌', '山歌' (with Kary, I just love her tube top + purple mini skirt) , 'Loving u', 'Volar', '我有今日' (this reminds me of the video which he explained the story behind this song) , 'Hey Jude' with the band & finished it off with '命硬' (he was sweating like hell by this song & I nearly broke my arm of passing him a tissue) . We were excited, I was feeling very high but a bit dizzy thou (I had a total of 7 glasses of wine). So I couldn't recall what Justin had exactly said but I remember he was asking for a glass of drink at 1 time but no1 seemed to have given it to him. Then at the other time, some1 was throwing a rubbish to the stage (that is absolutely nuts) . I think Justin thought it could be a gift, picked it up & looked at it & threw it back when he knew (this is the funniest part). U know I really wanted to stay & watch '陶喆' as well but the rest of the group wanted to leave. They wanted to try their luck if they could have a word with Justin at the carpark. Sooo, I left with them ^= = ^, rather reluctantly. U see no 1 has ever thought Justin would come out to the stage again (why? I was a bit drunk to know). Anyhow, while we were waiting at the exit, oops ~ we heard Justin's voice inside..... & he came out within 5 mins. He was about to walk towards r direction but........u see Guangzhou's fans are dying to see him , so they proposed if they could have a pic. Eventually with permission fr Elaine, we had 1 group photo taken. The whole thing I must say is sooo marvellous, not just Justin's part. Fr venue set up, food to drinks, attitude of staff, the whole presentation is such of high standard. I'm always interested in this marketing thing. And on top of that, to me everyday in life is an experience. U may pick up something which maybe new & knowledgeable. And always try to be humble & learn fr others, that way u can only improve & be a better person.

I had very different companions of attending Justin's functions lately, some whom in my mind I reckon I would never make friends with. . This has given me some thoughts.... Perhaps chemistry in between human beings do change in time & I have a bad habit which I would blacklist people or stop a relationship when I find if someone is actually fake or when I'm feeling being hurt . But I find out this world turns out could be full of possibilities. Those that u thought would never happen may happen. And I also realise it doesn't really matter whom I mix with, I should be as happy whether it would be a 15 year old kid or someone who may look cool & fierce, their love to Justin is as naive & simple or rather love could be in various ways. I'm reminding myself to be more appreciative. Why have I become so sentimental today? I'm sorry ~ ~ ~

And they keep on having these close up shots of the girl's face, her chest, her thighs....seriously man...i want to see close up of Justin, not the girl. Justin filming MV for his new song. He is sitting on a sofa that has different size speakers on it.

Justin’s dance looked like a robot, caused Jade Kwan to laugh non stop.

Earlier Justin wore a suit to film his “One Phrase” MV. The director arranged for him to film inside a building where there was no air conditioning. Because of the hot weather, plus he had to dance it caused him to sweat a lot. (Didn’t exactly say that…but I didn’t really know what they meant…but oh well ,this is close enough).

As for demonstrating Hip Hop dance steps yesterday on “Jade Solid Gold” the night before, he was laughed at for looking like a “robot”. There were rumors saying that Justin only cares about going out at night and had a bad temper towards Paco Wong. As a result Paco “froze” him and started supporting newcomer Siu Fei. Justin denied this and said Paco is like his second father.

Asking his if had a “black face” (huk meen) in front of Paco? He said, “No, I wouldn’t dare to. I make albums, not rumors (ok, my translation is bad...haha. He said, '我係做唱片，唔係做是非 ')”. Talking about whether there will be a chance of him collaborating with Siu Fei, Justin said, “Yes, I really admire him”.

Justin, who is usually not that great in Mandarin, was in Guangzhou the night before. He attended the Guangdong radio broadcast station Mandarin competition (sorry if it sounds weird, I didn't really translate the whole title...as you can see in the pic, the board behind Justin has the title of the event on there and it is a loooong name) and was a Mandarin ambassador. Regarding this responsibility, Justin expressed that he is going to use this opportunity to promote his mandarin level. (Haha..i don't know if it makes much sense, I guess he wanted to show that his mandarin improved?) Regarding the dispute between him and his manager Paco Wong recently, he laughed and said it's only stories made up by the media. And he absolutely would not offend Paco Wong because Paco is like a second father to him.

Justin who composed songs for many singers would now really like to work with Harlem Yu and Andy Lau. And regarding his rumors he said 90% is fake, as for which 10% is true, he doesn't even know himself. As for whether there are many rumors about him because he frequently "yeh po" (means like always going out at night), Justin said that there is nothing wrong with going out for drinks with friends.

Earlier he and Kary Ng worked together and promoted their first movie, "Love@First Note". Justin wasn't satisfied with his performance and also expressed that he will never act again. He doesn't want to act even if it is a MV. Instead he hopes to do directing and behind the scenes work. Asked if he is going to be like Jay Chou and direct a movie, Justin immediately shaked his head, "In the US I learned a bit of film editing techniques, but if it is a movie it is really hard. I think being a director is harder than a producer".

Justin Encounters - Chapter 18 ( RTHK Putonghua Ambassador Event 28/7/2007')

Guess where it's taken this time ~~~ guangzhou, China. I didn't plan for this trip at the very beginning as 1) I had no glue what it is all about 2) no glue either how I could participate in this. But seems like haven't seen Justin for a long long time after the birthday party, so I accidently clicked into the China web site & found all these details. God's will (haha). It needs enrollment. My occupation has got me used to make travel decisions quickly, so everything is confirmed in 1 day. We r heading towards this largest city of Southern part of China, with excitement & curiosity coz I never attended a 'function' besides concert over there.

We arrived there around 1630 & managed to meet up with the committee in charge . And by 1900, we were at the venue, Guangtong Radio Broadcast Centre which there r already 40+ local Justin's fans. O my god, they were all sooooo young, but enthusiatic , I would say. U see they scarcely get the chance to meet up with Justin so everybody was soooo excited but scared. There's 2 of us fr HK, so I felt like an older sister that I should take care of them or perhaps help out if I'm needed. So I discussed with the committee there & suggested a group photo taken with all those nice Justin banners. And I was organising these young kids who r so shy but naive (I really like them). My other friend has played the role of photographer. Then we lined up 2 by 2 (now I must emphasis security in China is very very very strict) at the park outside the main entrance, in the dark & waiting for further instructions.

By 1950 we walked up to the function room, where they have blocked off an area, on both sides of the t- shape stage so that we could all kneel down & watch the show. Besides us, there 's about 100 + audiences. While we were waiting, we chat & discussed what we should do when Justin came out. The China fanclub chairman reminded everybody to stay calm & make sure they won't touch Justin or even shake his hand. O my god, I was thinking 'can't even shake his hand?' How can I bear not screaming & shake his hand thou? Anyway, we giggled & laughed & waited nervously for him. The show started with a light up ceremony and da da ...... Justin was 1 of the guests & he walked out, wowww. He was in a white jacket & the same old t shirt which I saw last time :)) He smiled at his fans, but quickly went backstage. It is a putonghua competition & particpants r fr HK, China, Macau.....at first I thought it must be boring but no, they had a really good & interesting rundown. I'm glad that I got the chance to learn some local putonghua slangs. 2 hours passed quickly with fun & the moment we've been waiting for eventually came. Yesss, we r ready. Justin was introduced to the stage. He did a short & humble speech in Mandarin. U can tell his putonghua has improved a lot (I wonder whether he's got a private tutor). Then he started to sing.... his 'very 1st' Mandarin song, wowww. I fell in love with it once I heard the rhythm. And I know it will be a hit, even thou I didn't get the lyrics . But I found him a bit nervous thou. He sang it passionately & he walked towards the t shape stage. Now fans on my side can't resist anymore & shaked his hands :)) Someone gave him caps, flowers. Everybody went passionate! He finished the song & had a chat with the MCs. He said he has made up his mind to brush up his Mandarin (add oil, Justin). Then he sang 1 more, '情歌' & asked us to wave together with him (haha). Then I looked around & wondered 'o god, I didn't bring any glowsticks from HK' , never mind, I clapped my hands. So we basically got closer to the stage, soo close to him ( my head was thinking I could touch his shoes again, it's white color this time, hahahaha. But of course I didn't do that ) . It's sooooo warm, the whole atmosphere..... chocholates could even melt. And I'm doing this with the China fans over there. I love the feeling, I'm enjoying it & I'm touched by them. U see living standard in China is nothing compared to HK, but all these fans, most of them r students. They may not have much to spend, they may have to travel a long way to be here, ..... just for 1 person. And after this function, they may have to wait for another couple of months or don't even know how long b 4 they could see Justin again. Those flowers may not as pretty as the ones we get it in HK, & we don't normally give him caps that way, without a bag. But things r as simple as it is, it 's as touching as it is. Nothing else needed , nothing else more important .... just besides yr heart, & do it truely~~~

The 2 of us left the venue , went downstairs to see whether we could get hold of Justin. Well, well, well, he was about to leave with his assistants. To be honest, I'm not some1 who fancy much about photos especially as age gets older & weight gets heavier (haha), coz I believe greatest moments are being kept in the head. But for special occasions like this, esp when it's happening overseas, I would very much want a photo with Justin. But the security guard there stopped us! Sometimes I'm pretty annoyed fr the way that Justin is being surrounded u know, by all these bodyguards. I know I shouldn't think that way & I understand the security is just making sure his safety but that guard pushed my friend. Maybe the hope of spending a bit more time with him (perhaps few more minutes) got more desperate overseas . I brought along my photo album (this is a special one) , the 3rd time, wish to get his autograph so I asked when the guides r leading him to the carpark. Thank god & thks Justin, even thou I repeated my request twice b 4 he turned around, & signed. U truely deserve r love!

We tried to find r way to the carpark, but got a bit lost. So we waited outside for r last luck, wishing his car would stop. But I guess the driver saw us. The car quickly went by, we were being left, 'lost' in the darkness, at 1 of the street of Guangzhou....

I translated her newest entry. I'll try to translate most of the entries she posts from now on. (IF I have time to translate all of them that is) I love reading it. Sometimes the conversations between her and Justin is so funny and cute! haha.

Special: 「Jenny!」

Someone received a friend’s notice and said that Gold Label will be filming in Central (zhongwan). Even though no one knows for sure what artist will be there or what they are going to film, we decided to go take a look anyway.

Just sitting there like a fool on one side, we suddenly saw Justin’s car. We were looking around, but we didn’t see anyone in the car. The car was of weird. It went around circling nearby, the stopped in front of us at the left hand side. We looked again, but we were sure that there was no one inside.

Then there was a woman who went over and opened the car door. Then it was the moment when the door opened where we saw a cap-wearing person in the car. He came out, looked toward our side, and waved at us.
OMG, Justin actually saw us first.

He was a little surprised to see us.
Afterwards Justin needed to go do make-up
“I’ll come over and look for you guys later”

Justin changed his clothes in the car.
During that time, we chatted with the make-up lady, she was really nice.
Everyone said Justin’s skin is really nice, didn’t even need make-up!

After he came out of the car, we chatted a few words with him, and then he went up
We then went to stand near the ocean
Looking up at the roof, we see Justin filming!

It was extremely hot, extremely sunny
Seeing Justin wearing 2 shirts, wearing a long sleeve shirt on the outside just makes my heart ache.

During that time, I went to the bathroom. The moment I opened the door, I received a phone call. I quickly ran back, and Justin just came down. I was all out of breath and said hi to Justin.

Are you filming “One Phrase” MV?
Justin: “I filmed the “One Phrase” KTV already, today we’re filming a Disney MV”
Disney? Really?

In Leo’s concert, which show are you going to sing in?
Justin: “Sing in all of them, sing all 4 shows!”
Really? Then I am going to buy tickets for all 4 shows, are you singing chorus or are you guest performer?
Justin: “Guest performer!”

Chop and Leave Me is really great!
The verse in Chop sounds really good! How about releasing an album!
Justin: “Oh.....sounds good wor!! I thought about it before”

When?
Justin: “Mmm...I think probably need 1 or 2 years, hehee”
Justin: “But the sounds are very 渣 (don’t know what that means)”
Huh? No, it’s really great!

Actually we aren’t the only who says that. A lot of overseas fans said they want....
Justin interrupts: “Really, you like the demo ah?"

Yes, really want you to release a demo album!
Justin: “Oh, only with the piano sounds? Hehee”
No, we need your voice too!
Justin: “hehee”

Are you really going to sing in all 4 shows? I’m going to all 4 shows then!
Justin: “Yes, yes, good, good, great!” <--(Pwahhahaha)

Justin: “Wah, it’s really hot today, 33 degrees...don’t know what to do”
Saw you and knew you were hot, you were standing upstairs for so long.

Did you compose the song? That Disney song....
Justin: “No, it’s an English song, but it was changed to Cantonese”

When we were taking pictures, we told Justin to smile
Justin: “The director kept on telling me to smile (it’s either smile or laugh...probably told him to laugh, haha), hehee, it is hard to smile ! (When he was saying this, his smile is so bright (?? I think that is what “chan lan” means)
Justin: “But for Disney I have to smile"
Yes, and you have to smile happily.

When Justin was singing autograph for a fan
Justin: “I think you will like the name of my new album”
(Asking him why, he didn’t explain)

Justin: “In September, we changed it now because Leo is releasing his in August”

Did you take pictures for the album cover yet?
Justin: “Not yet”~

The pictures have to be taken nicely, because the pictures are going to be used for a long time
Justin: “This time it’s going to really cute!”

How is it going to be cute?
Justin: “This time I’m part of it” (the cover design I think)

You make it? Then we are going to be worried
(Everyone laughed, Justin couldn’t help but laugh also)

Justin: “Huh? No, I use to work in this field”
Yes, actually we waited a long time for you to design!

Justin: “It is kind of cute this time~”
Like when Mika drew her own album cover, it was great!
Justin: “Really!?”

A cute guy (leng jai) of course use big head la (I was finally brave enough to call Justin cute in front of him! I was so scared he wouldn’t like it!)
We chatted with the make-up lady before, she said you didn’t even need to put on make-up. Your skin is really good.
Justin laughed: “what!” (well, he said “gow chor ah!” I think it means more like “what the hell”?...right? haha...not sure)

There was actually another female fan that was next to me

Justin saw a TVB string hanging from her cell.
Justin: “Oh TVB, there are lots of TVB people over there (pointing to the area where they just filmed)
Justin saw right through her. (Haha....Jenny said they thought that the girl was a fan of TVB but not really a fan of him)

I helped this female fan take a picture with her phone: I think it was over exposure to light.
Justin: “Over exposure to light?”

Rest more when you get back
Justin: “I rested a lot lately! Hehee”
Then he waved bye to us.

There are often people who criticized Justin for having a arrogant mouth.
I can’t even feel it for one bit.

(I can't feel it either. I never met Justin before but from reading Jenny's entries, Jensalo's report, or from other people, Justin seems like a really nice, sweet, down to earth type of person. So I don't know what the hell those reporters are talking about...)

In Justin's function in Guangzhou on 7/28/07, Justin sang his new mandarin song! The name of the song is called "路人甲" (sorry, don't know what it means).

Someone took a clip of him singing his new song! The sound quality is pretty bad, you can't really hear what he is singing. But the melody sounds pretty nice...can't wait to hear the full CD version of the song.

Hello Teencan!

This is Jensalo reporting from Hong Kong. I’ve met Justin, finally! Never knew I would have the chance to do that. Because my chances are pretty small considering I don’t live in Hong Kong. From what I’ve known (from the chatterbox) there are some of you who are planning going to Hong Kong and some are already there. It would be fun to meet up, just email me if you are interested. I’m staying in Hong Kong until the 6^th of Aug, Have just come back from Malaysia.

Anyway how did it happen you must all wondered. Well I don’t want to go into details…haha just kidding of course you want the goodies! But I warn you it’s pretty long so have patience ladies and gents.

It started with me finally had access to the internet and could go in and check his schedule. I actually had a feeling that he won’t be having any functions in July since his schedule hasn’t been updated ever since I left home. But to my surprise it was updated the same day I checked. The event was named “TVB event” and was gonna happen the next day. This was perfect cause I didn’t had anything to do that day. The problem was figuring out how to get there. But Hong Kong is really easy to find and the people I’ve encountered so far are so nice when it comes to asking for directions. I finally made it just a few minutes before 3 pm which according to his schedule, he was supposed to show up. But those who are waiting for good things are ought to wait. It was really hot that day; sweat was just dropping down continuously. While I’ve waited in that hot weather I started to wonder if this was the right place. So I asked the girl who stood beside me. It turns out that she was working for this event. She confirmed that it was gonna be guests and Justin was mentioned so I decided to keep waiting. Just to throw an example of how nice Hong Kong people are. After asking this girl she offered to share her umbrella with me considering the sun was so hot. Now maybe I was just lucky to meet this girl but sometimes you just have to have a little faith in people.

Anyway just a few minutes later I saw this guy with a black cap showing up a few meters from where I was standing. Yes, there he was preparing for a TVB interview. The girl suggested that we should go towards him because she saw me trying so hard to zoom in with my camera. To our amazement there weren’t a single fans there. But there where a security guard watching. I wasn’t really familiar with this kind of stuff. Don’t know what my boundaries are. When can I come forward and when do I cross the line. So we actually studied the guard more than Justin. When he smiled at us we went one step closer until he wasn’t that happy anymore. Just when we were about to turn around to go back, a flock of fans came running towards us. I was pretty shocked! Then I just went with the flow and whatever they did I try to follow.

Elaine came and said hello to the fans first cause Justin was still doing his interview. The fans prepared a lot of things to give to their idol, I saw someone give away a cake. When Justin finally finished his interview he came to say hi and I saw a girl offering him a tissue to wipe off his sweat. That was so sweet! He treats his fans like his friends. Anyway suddenly this girl that I was with ask me if I got a piece of paper, I first didn’t realize what it was for cause I was still a little shock by the fans and by seeing Justin so close up. But luckily I brought my notebook with me so I tear up a piece of paper for her but I couldn’t find my pen. Suddenly she turned up with a pen and gave it to Justin. I acted fast and gave my whole notebook to him right her. I think he got a little surprised...haha. I so regret that I didn’t brought my new bought Justin HKPO DVD with me. Anyway after that a few kids ran up to me and asked me to give them a piece of paper. My notebook became a few pages thinner…but they were just so adorable that I couldn’t say no. He was now taking photos with fans and I also wanted one with him to remember this special day. I was really close so I slightly touched his shoulder but he was leaving to prepare for the show. But then Paco Wong showed up. Some started to take pictures with him. But I was acting to slowly as well and let that slip away too. I asked the girl where she got the pen she said she asked a senior for it…haha. She really wasn’t a Justin fan but didn’t want to miss an opportunity to meet a star and thank god for that otherwise I didn’t knew what I was supposed to do.

When we decided to go back to where we were standing before, one of the security guard opened the gate where you can sit and enjoy the show. He said we could go in. Wow it was really my lucky day! I chose the second row from the stage. So it was really close. Didn’t dare to sit in the front row because I didn’t know what was going to happen then…haha

But the TVB camera man kept filming in our direction. The show was gonna air the next day, in the evening but I didn’t had a chance to watch it cause I was leaving for Malaysia in the morning. So I got to meet Justin the day before I left Hong Kong…J.

He came out finally after several performance of the Mr Hong Kong contest. The funny thing about that was one of the contestants sang “Volar” in his number…haha. That got the Justin fans really excited…haha. Justin finally came out on stage. He sang his new song “One phrase” and “Erica”. This was the first time I heard him sang live this close. And the dancing was great. The JSG Award show and the countdown last year didn’t count cause I could barely see him. When he sings live it’s just like listening to one of his CD. And you can really see that he’s really enjoying it. After the performance he talked to the hosts for a bit but they missed the cue that they should look at the other camera…which was pretty funny. The TV crewman kept waving his hands to the other camera but they just kept talking into the other one…haha.

When the show ended Justin left really quickly. I ran to his direction but it turns out that it was backstage and I couldn’t go in so I decided to go home. But when I walk down the street I saw kids ran across screaming Justin. I started to run to…haha. When I got there he was surrounded by fans. And when the time I got there his assistant or bodyguard said it was enough. All the fans left and I was really disappointed. I thought to myself it’s now or never. So I walked behind him and shouted “Justin”. He looked back and stopped. I don’t remembered what I said to him, but since I had a camera in my hand he knew I wanted a picture. I think it went like this: Justin, can I…and he nodded. I think I said I’m not from Hong Kong and he asked me where and his assistant helped us take a picture. I told him how amazing he is and that his songs are really good. Whenever I get nervous I start to talk in English, I can’t explain why and from what I recall I talked almost 90 % English during that conversation…haha. I wanted to talk to him more but I didn’t want to be in the way either. He already made an exception for me. After the photo he went to his car and drove away. I was really not taking it in at first. There were two girls who tried to ask him for a photo right after me but he took off.. I couldn’t really realize what just happened. Within a day I managed to see him, talked to him, got his autograph and had a picture taken with him. I was really happy and smiled all the way home. I was really over the moon.

I’ve recorded some clip from his performance but I didn’t record the whole thing cause I really wanted to enjoy it myself. My sis was really kicking herself right after I told her what happened. Cause I asked her to join me but she refused. Now she regrets it so...haha. But I didn’t really expect it to happen anyway. Who would have thought? I forgot to help her get his autograph which even makes her more annoyed.

Justin, if you are reading this. Thanks for your time it really meant a lot to me. Hopefully I will have another chance before I leave Hong Kong. I know you can’t be too greedy. So if I don’t meet you again, I just want to let you know that you are a very talented man and keep up with the good work. Look forward to your new album! Wonder if I’m the first Swedish fan you ever met? Haha.

Disney Movie song and mv filming

Justin and I will sing the themesong for the Disney movie, "high school musical 2". The Chinese name of the movie is "飛就飛" (Just Fly).

Earlier we did the recording for it already. Justin and I really liked it.
(They look adorable in the 2nd picture, especially Justin. hehe...)

Then yesterday we went to film the MV for this song
Yesterday was really hot, it was about 33 degrees. But the Hong Kong scenery is really pretty, especially the buildings.

After filming outdoor scenes, we went and filmed indoor scenes (well...it says 廠景, 廠 means factory or warehouse). The warehouse was really cold. It was a huge difference from the weather this morning, it was like a refrigerator. The setting in the warehouse was really pretty and really unique, check it out!!!

Justin Encounters - Chapter 17 (Justin's Birthday Party 30/6/2007')

It's the 1st time I ever attended a 'bowling birthday party' (haha). Bowling always reminds me of my teen's, those summers in Melbourne that I went bowling every afternoon before my part time job in the Chinese restaurant. And how I always broke my fingernails :)) Anyhow, Justin came around at about 1530, in his red t shirt which says, 'Le bowling' with bowling prints (if u looked thru the pics). Looks vintage & matches the theme. I wonder if he has been digging thru his wardrobe the previous night to wear this. And how u could tell someone's character by observing all these single details. He is a fine person, by conclusions. He made us an opening speech, then we had a few games, then the present giving (5 new different caps), we sang him birthday song both in Chinese & English & he cut the cake. Talking about the games, of course 1 of them is a mini bowling competition, which we get the chance to watch Justin showing off his bowling skills. He is good I must say. And the prize is pretty, a silver pendant with J & teen fanmily underneath. The game I love the most is the one which they show people fr different nationalities, let them hear Justin's songs & sings the rhythms & u have to guess the name. That is soooo funny. Then Justin did 2 demos & I was laughing my lungs out when he murmurs all these rhythms. There's also 1 part of this powerpoint showing all these pics of Justin, funny ones, cutey ones, scary ones.... all sorts that we couldn't help screaming & laughing by watching it. Lastly, we got r turns to give him the birthday presents 1 by 1, & of course a photo with him. As same as last yr, I gave him a birthday hug with permission (haha). But this yr, no 1 kissed him (hahaha).

It's a nice small gathering party, compared to last yr, it feels warmer. Last yr I was curious with his name but this yr, it feels as if I'm attending a friend's birthday party, after been supporting him for a yr & seeing him so many times. It feels better without any media. We casually stood or sat on the staircase, watching him or listening to him when he speaks. There's a few lines which I find the most impressive! 'I truely appreciate u guys have been accompanying me , thru ups & downs.......' 'Even thou 1 day it's only u guys left, I would still sing u my music......' That's what he said. Yesss, even thou 1 day the rest of the world may have gone, 'Justin, we would still be here to be yr loyal audience & we will always be true!! Happy Happy Birthday! '

Justin Encounters - Chapter 16 ( Bravo Justin music party 31/5/07')

This is my 3rd one of hearing Justin's angel voice in 3 weeks' time, in 3 different places, round the globe (Shengzhen 19/5, Sydney 26/5 & HK 31/5). Geeee.....busier than my business trips. Ok, but this time, something very unique, which his music talents further amazed me. U guys must take a look at youtube or probably have already. The reggae version of '决戰二世祖', can u believe that? The beginning it sounds like South America or Cuba or Africa feel? My goodness ! How many voices can u find there fr 1 same guy? The new song '一句', the dancing part makes me scream especially when Justin put his feet on the chair ~~ my friends say it reminds them of Spiderman 3 (no I haven't watched this 1 yet, is there a similar scene?) There's quite a no of guests but I would like to highlight this 1 'Mr Gary Cao'. When he sings '今生今世' together with Justin, I was like 'oh my god....' his 高音(is it called 'tenor') is even more powerful than Justin's. There's a few lines that Justin pretends Leslie's voice ...... I was a Leslie's fanz, in fact still I'm. Some1, who I think no 1 can replace. 'More than words' is very nice , sang by 2 good friends, on the stage, how warm :)) Gary is jussst lovely, shy & lovely. When he speaks, sounds like a baby talking (haha) .He used to study in New Zealand I think. Anyway, this music party is just full of pleasant surprises, unexpectedly. Forgot to say, b 4 the show started, while we were having a pre dinner down at the canteen, coincidently Justin & the band were sitting not far fr us having their meals. But of course, we rather leave him alone & didn't really want to disturb him.I prefer he gave us a treat ( lah, just kidding). Well, r free tickets let us sit at the very last row at the peak but when the show ends, while he's doing an encore with 'Volar', we ran & ran to the very front & managed to shake his hand. Yesss, this is the most exciting part :)) But do u guys realise that his hand is always cold?? Anyhow, my favourite of the evening, '如泣如訴' (original singer/杜德偉, movie '金枝玉葉' 插曲). Here we r, Justin's version, close yr eyes & listen esp the lyrics ~~~~is there a time in life that u really wanted to love somebody but u have to let go?! .......

The night before, Justin performed for “Music World-Justin sing good music show” (whatever the name of the show is called, don’t really know how to translate it). Guest performers that were there included Richie Ren, Kary Ng, Gary Cao, etc. That night Justin showed all his talents. He sang and danced, even played the piano and guitar.

Dancing is Justin’s weakness. Because of this show, he worked hard and practiced the dance steps. Asking him when he had to sing and dance to a fast song, was he scared that his hat is going to fall off and reveal his head? He expressed that he wasn’t worried. He was only worried about the microphone dropping. During the show, Justin also imitated Leslie Cheung and sang, “今生今世”.

Justin said he had to play the piano in front of the audience that night. He was worried that his hands will shake because he was nervous. But luckily at the end he was able to overcome his fear because the performance was very successful. Recently Justin did too many music shows, this caused him to feel a little bored. He hopes to compose more nice songs before holding another show. He expressed that some singers hold a 40 show concert and every night they have to do the same movement, it will be very boring. Of course they are singing because of money, if it’s not money then it is for promotion.

Justin Encounters - Chapter 15 ( OGS Sydney 26/5/07')

Well, besides a family reunion in my second home, another highlight of this Aussie trip would be watching OGS Sydney 26/5. I arrived Sydney on the 25th fr Melbourne, a place which does remind me a few love stories of mine (haha). I always love the Opera house & reckon it's soooo romantic taking a cruise around the harbour. Anyhow, part 1 is the autograph session of Justin at Redbox. When I got there, there's already a L shape queue around the corner. In fact as I've discussed with Debbie, to show r warmest greetings & wishes to Justin for his 1st solo concert here, we've come up to the decision of buying him a card. So I spent 1 hr in Myer/David Jones choosing the right 1, a 15" x 10" full of Simpson's characters card & brought it along fr Melbourne. Ladies, pity that I didn't have enough time to get each 1 of u to sign it in time & forgot to take a pic of it, I dropped all yr names inside though, & wrote 'We wish u every success for OGS Sydney & Australia loves u' + a lipmark (wink). I must say I've never been to an autograph session with so strict security.They checked all r bags & we must possess a concert ticket (luckily I brought it along ), but not a redbox voucher (so why should I buy 1?) . They were selling concert posters, Philharmonic VCDs & OGS caps at the entrance. The reception asked me if I brought along anything for Justin to sign & I replied I did & they scanned it to make sure it's not fake (oh my god). But I like the way they present it. As we walked down where the autograph table was, all these karaoke rooms were open & playing OGS dvds. As Justin was doing a press con at the Star City, we had a quiz session. 1 of the question which the MC was asking was if fans do have anything to ask Justin. One girl raised up with this weird one 'will he take off his cap?' I was shocked really & my heart was saying, ' why she should be here?' And let's skip what the MC replied. I raised this not becoz the fact that I'm a committed fanz of Justin & getting a bit irritated when people are being rude to him but I also want to point out the thing is we as human beings, shouldn't we just accept & respect the way people r ? Should we learn to spread r love wings around despite of people's nationalities, outlooks or whatever. (Sorry for being a bit outspoken & sidetrack but I hope I'm here not only sharing my lovely encounters with Justin but also allowing me to express some of my deeper thoughts which may inspire yr value & attitude towards life).

Justin arrived at around 1600 in this grey blue leather jacket & black beanie hat, looking a bit shy thou at the beginning . Had a bit of chat with the MC & I was excited, even though I've been to his autograph session so many times but the 1st time doing this overseas, the feeling as if flying all the way to attend an old friend's wedding reception (I hope I'm not exaggerating). And the happiness of seeing all these people, young & old/guys & girls/mothers bringing along daughters.... being there to support him & I was participating in it. I eventually got my philharmonic VCD signed, can u imagine? Can't get it signed so many times in HK but I got to do it in Sydney. And as usual, Justin was kind enough (as he always is) to sign my concert ticket as requested.

Part 2, the concert at the Sydney Entertainment centre ...... the show started at 2045. I watched this in HK, Macau, Malaysia ..... but never got sick of it. I guess each time when I go to his live performance, I may be with different companions , in different states of mind & come out with different feelings. My thought is if u always try to find a way to appreciate the same old thing, u may get various inspirations & outcomes. And the main point is, I would never want to miss any of his solo live performance & being there to show him support, I just feel great u know. This is the last OGS he quoted. O, but this time something quite different. The show makes me run. At 1 point he may run over to the right hand side or left hand side of the stage & at the other point, he may be standing right in the middle aisle (the best part I like). We were all standing there wrapping him. Especially when he sings 'Ming Sing' with all those mobile phone lights, isn't that beautiful & it's like a movie scene. And each of his show, I may pick up a new song which I fall in love with. This time, 'One last cry'. U know the magic about Justin is, whatever song he tries to sing, he seems to sing better than the original artist with his full passion fr deep down his heart. In fact that is what keeps on bringing me back to be 1 of his loyal audience & to me, it's always beautiful & touching when some1 is doing something with his/her heart. However, Justin always tends to choose these saddd songs. I have been wondering.... has he been really that badly hurt? How can someone hurt such a gorgeous nice gentleman? And he did mention quite a few times that it's his endless visits to Sydney which her ex girlfriend used to stay here. It must have been a truely impressive romance which he is still missing it! But by choosing to sing this song, does that mean he's putting a footstop to this sad memory?? Here r the lyrics ......

The other thing is I didn't know glowsticks are not common here. My light banner has caused curiosity.... especially from the security guard sitting in front of me. He was studying what is it? (hahaha) The show ended up with we all went out to the stage while he sang '决戰二世祖', '感動' & '好人'. And my friends were giving him all these Koalas. He said he didn't want it to end. Neither do we.......

Seeing Elaine pushing her luggage and walking into the airport, I first greet her.

Me: “Justin, you didn’t get much sleep yesterday?”

Seeing Justin’s look, I couldn’t help but ask

Karen: “Justin, you look like you got fatter!”

Justin: “Really? And I thought I got thinner!”

Karen: “What songs are you going to sing with Gary Cao?”

Justin: “(laughs) can’t tell”

Justin: “I went to sing karaoke with Gary Cao yesterday, we rehearsed already”

At first, no one requested for pictures and autograph

Afterwards he expressed that he really admires Stephanie Sun. He even revealed that he puts her picture on his desk and then uses the term “goddess” to describe her.

Stephanie Sun was rehearsing yesterday with Leo Ku for her music show tonight. Regarding about Justin saying that she’s a goddess, Stephanie didn’t believe it at first. Then the reporters tried to prove it to her over and over again, she then said “Yes, I am very cute”. Asking her if she is going to accept Justin’s chase? She said, “Welcome, Please don’t be too 幼稚 (sorry I don’t know how to read this. I looked it up and it means weak. But it doesn’t really make sense, does it? *shrugs*), he is also very cute. Even though I don’t know much about him, I feel that he us very sweet and is very talented. (You don’t mind Justin’s height?) It’s not a problem, as long as he has self-confidence.

When someone said if height doesn’t match it’ll be hard to kiss, Stephanie couldn’t help but laugh and said, “Then he can tiptoe (something like that)”. Asking her whether or not she had the urge to pull Justin’s cap off (what kind of stupid question is that? who would be that rude to pull someone's cap off?) She widens her eyes and said, “No, wearing cap is very cute”.

Stephanie Sun, Justin, Kary, Jason Chan, etc was at Cheurng Kwun O yesterday for the JSG recording. Stephanie Sun, who was sick, sang with Justin. The two of them got more excited as they sang. Justin also gave a rose to Stephanie. Afterwards he said that he will be a guest at her music show. He said, “She is not feeling well, hope she gets better soon”.

Justin admits that he really admires Stephanie Sun, he also said that before entering the industry he would bring the newspapers (??) to his office. Then did you put it next to your bed (the reporter asked this question. I think the word actually means in front of bed…but whatever…I don’t know if that word means in front of the bed, next to the bed....it’s just somewhere around the bed)? Justin said, “Not that extreme”. Justin then compliments her and said, “Her face is really cute. Her voice is very cute. Seeing her in person today I think she’s very cute. I’m very happy that I can sing with her, her voice is very unique”. Asking him whether he would like to find this type of girl for a girlfriend, Justin said, “That would be good, if she knows how to sing then we can sing together. Two of us singing together, it is very sweet ah”.

Justin Encounters - Chapter 14 ( California Red Gathering 29/4/07'')

It was held far far away at this remote place that I've never been to. There u could see rocks, mountains , grass.....but anyway, something different. It feels like a mini mini concert of Justin which we came all the way for him. I was standing right in the middle , just in front the stage which I could probably touch Justin's shoes if I stretched out my hands u know. Funny thing is I always think he's got little feet but I find out it's not, his sport shoes r big (I don't mean to be rude, ok). 1 of the quiz that day is what size he wears for bowling shoes, it's 7 & 1/2 , put down in yr diary if u gonna give him a pair for birthday present. My necks r aching fr looking up to him while he sings, haha & yesss, if u went thru all the photos, the mosiquitoes love him & leaving all these kissing marks on his arms which some r swelling as I saw it. Poor Justin! He sang more than I've expected , totally about 12 songs. His songs of course, but the best part I find.... (go thru those videos again u must) when he plays the guitar & sings this 1 called, 'The Girl fr Ipanema'. Anyone of u knows it? I always come across this song in cafeteria/bars/ restaurants or some stylish shops & it's kind of romantic & relaxing. Imagine if u r somewhere having a cup of coffee or Bailey + milk by the beachside, + sunset + sea breeze, this song is jussssttttt perfect! Justin said it's a Portugese song & I was like 'wowwww' when he's playing it , with a couple of Portugese lyrics. His music talents r jussssttttt amazing. Then he played another 1 by name of 'Crazy' which I recall he said he's gonna do it with Yanzi Suen (that Singaporean female singer) in some upcoming events. Really I love it when he sings English songs & in fact that's what attracts me fr the very very beginning at his 1st concert last year. Everytime he does it, it's jussstttt breathtaking & he's got a kind of international flair that no other local singers do carry (I'm sorry but that's the way I feel it). We encored & the last 1 he did is 'Volar' (it's not prepared). So, before the technician can get hold of the CD, Justin sings out the background music himself, geeeee.....what can I say? Sooooo, have u all bought his Sydney concert tickets? If not, get 1, get a chance to taste this gifted voice which will capture yr heart! Trust me :))

4/30/07 News- California Red 903 event

The California Red 903 event took place yesterday at Lung Kwu, Tuen Mun (no idea where this is. I googled the Chinese name and this popped up). Even though it was drizzling a little bit, about 400 fans came to the event. Justin also arrived there in a Lamborghini race car. During the event he went to the side of the stage to shake hands with fans. When Justin gave the microphone to a young fan, she was not shy and sang loudly. Justin couldn’t help but clap his hands to encourage her.

Justin admits that it has been a while since he met with his fans. Even though the location kind of far, he thinks it’s kind of special. And he is really happy that fans came from far way to support him. When the event hasn’t even started yet, he was already “lunch” for the mosquitoes. His whole arm was bitten by mosquitoes. He said maybe it’s because he is Type-O blood so it’s easier to annoy mosquitoes. In the middle of the event, it started drizzling, he said no matter what he is still going to continue singing.

Right now he is busy recording for his new album. It might be released in the summer.

The rest of the article just talks about Kary being the guest performer and sang “hill song” with Justin.

Guest performer at Harlem Yu's concert

The article is pretty short, so I'll just give you guys a short summary instead.

Justin was a guest performer at Harlem Yu's concert on 4/27/2007 at the Hong Kong Coliseum. They sang "老實情歌" and "My Girl" together. This was the first time Harlem collaborated with Justin, he feels that Justin is very serious about his work.
And that's pretty much it.

"I am like this, I live happily"

I have a lot of fate with the stadium. Last year on October I had a concert in the Milky Way Stadium in Guangzhou, I held 4 shows in HK Coliseum in February. At the end of March I went to sing at the Guangzhou Milky Way Stadium again, but it’s just at a Disco Bar next to the stadium.

I know there are a lot of singers that doesn’t really like singing at bars because they believe it will affect their image. But to me, it doesn’t really matter where I sing. As a matter of fact, I focus on the theme of the performance more than the location of it. Like this show, “炫音之樂” (don’t know how to translate, but I think it’s that Hennessy Artistry Party on 3/30/07), its theme was “international music exchange”. People who performed with me included the Live Band Live Troneek from Europe and DJ Skinny Babou from France. I think that this was a very good opportunity. It allowed me to compare notes (??) with singers around the world.

In addition, the only difference between a bar show and a concert is that there is a close interaction with the fans. You guys will be able to really hear my voice and I can hear your cheers and applauses. So I thought it was really fun the whole night!

For the Guangdong fans who missed this Guangzhou show, remember that on May 19^th I’m going to hold another show in Shenzhen. I’ll then 癲 (means like to go crazy or something) with you guys again!

Hmm....this article is mostly about Kary, but oh well...

Kary, Justin and Eason attended a blessing ceremony yesterday for “第一屆全港運動會開幕典禮” (don’t really know how to translate this. The First HK Game Opening Ceremony??? Something like that). Kary revealed that she is going to sing her new song, “Hill Song” with Justin. She feels extremely nervous. She said, “This is my first duet, I’m really nervous because he always forgets the lyrics. I’m scared he’s going to affect me. (Are you going to prepare a “貓紙”? directly translated it means “cat paper”, it means something like a cheat sheet) I tried it before, but now I won’t”.

In addition, Kary said that she and Justin don’t have any 情侶相 (pics of them as couples). She said “Daddy and Mommy said I don’t match with Justin, they said we look more like siblings than a couple. (Is it because Justin is not tall enough?) No, I never said that. When I’m performing on stage tonight I’m going to wear 4-5 inch heels. (Are you going to let Justin know beforehand?) He doesn’t care about this stuff”.

JUSTIN LO TING-WEI isn't the easiest interview subject. During the 10-minute photo shoot before our awkward one-on-one in a Lan Kwai Fong pub, the Canto-pop singer-songwriter finds it hard to stay focused, frequently chatting with his friends and colleagues.

He says he loathes being photographed. "It's my least favourite thing," says Lo. "Interviews are fine. I enjoy conversation. Photo shoots are the worst. I'm quite insecure about my looks. I don't stare into the mirror. I just take a brief glance and I'm out the door."

Interviews may be fine - but not today apparently. To almost every question he gives little more than a brief reply.

The 29-year-old is the first local artist to stage a concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum with just one album under his belt, Justin. His first concert, on March 26, was sold out in three hours, prompting him to add two more dates next week.

Lo seems to be enjoying his meteoric rise to fame, which he attributes largely to luck. Sporting his trademark baseball cap, he settles into a couch in a corner and lights up a cigarette. "I think I'm very blessed," he says. "It's 80 per cent luck, 10 per cent work effort and 10 per cent talent."

Introduced to producer Mark Lui Chung-tak by his musician uncle Ted Lo in 2003, Lo has been working at Lui's company, On Your Mark, and writing songs for the likes of Leon Lai Ming, Leo Ku Kui-kei and Miriam Yeung Chin-wah. He also produced Janice Vidal's debut solo, Day and Night, last year. For Ku's debut solo concerts at the Coliseum last year, Lo sang a cappella with the backing vocalists. His notable voice and confident stage presence captured the attention of Ku's manager, Paco Wong Pak-ko, who was keen to sign the camera-shy musician to his record company, Gold Label. "[Wong] said I had a god-given talent - the voice - to touch people's hearts and shouldn't waste it," Lo says.

He says being signed might help his producing career as well. "I hope that being upfront can help my backstage production, to get my name out and establish it. Many people did that before, like Mark Lui and Eric Kwok [Wai-leung]."

Lo released his debut album, Justin, last November, featuring his first single, Good Man. The record of catchy pop tunes and ballads has sold more than 35,000 copies in Hong Kong. He won several accolades for best newcomer at the Metro Radio Hong Kong - 2005 Hits Awards, RTHK's 28th Top Ten Chinese Gold Songs Awards, Commercial Radio's Ultimate Song Chart 2005 and TVB and Jade's Solid Gold Best Ten Awards.

"It's out of my control," says Lo, who recently released his second album, No Protection. "The market, the public, decide whether I'm famous or not - not me. I just make music. After putting out an album, I was satisfied. To have these acknowledgements, awards and support is an extra blessing. I think it's a big bonus." Lo says good timing and his record label are the keys to his success. "It has a lot to do with my company's promotion and marketing strategy," he says. "They did a great job. They work hard for me."

Lo's belief in his record label's vision is so strong that he overcame his shyness to appear in the movie Two Become One, co-starring Miriam Yeung and Richie Jen Hsien-chi. "Look at the results - I can't argue with that," he says. "I have to admit that I complained a lot. But when I look back at a lot of the decisions they made for me, they're justified by the results."

However, his fast rise to fame has also made Lo a paparazzi target. Earlier this year, a gossip magazine photographed him at home with actress-singer Gia Lin Yuan - and without his cap, revealing a receding hairline. "I was amused at first because I never thought I'd be on the cover of a tabloid," he says. "I don't need this kind of publicity. But it's OK. I'm not the first, and I won't be the last. That's their business."

Lo says he realizes that gossip is part of the business, but hopes his fans focus on his music. "Everyone criticizes your appearance when you're a new artist," he says. "When they get used to your looks, no matter how ugly you are, they say you're good looking. That's how it is."

But he can't say he wasn't warned. "[Mark Lui] told me everything was going to change, that people would treat me differently and I would know who my real friends are," he says. "A lot of people view me as a competitor now, rather than as their working partner. When I was doing backstage work, I was the guy who gave them good songs and helped them out. But now, I'm the competition."

Lo says that producing music will always be his strength, but it's getting harder to find time to write. "I want to let everyone know that I'm still going to work for them and write songs for them," he says. "I'm a very loyal person. I remember my roots and who has helped me."

Lo acknowledges a huge debt to his uncle, but says Lui is his marketing teacher. "He's a tough coach. He canned a lot of my songs, which makes sense now. But back then, I argued with him." It wasn't that the songs weren't any good - it's just that they weren't "marketable and popular".

"No matter how talented you are, if you don't have a sense of marketing and don't know how to sell yourself, you're not going to be successful."

One Good Show Sydney 2007

Not long after his In Love With Philharmonic series of concerts, Justin Lo bounces back onstage – this time in Sydney, Australia on the 26^th of May 2007 with One Good Show. The question now is – is he coming to wow us with new songs or will it be the exact same thing?

Kary and Justin accepted a radio interview yesterday. Kary revealed that Justin doesn’t want to collaborate with her anymore and he has something else in mind, “whenever he sees Stephy he will go up and talk to her”. Justin admits that he wants to collaborate with Stephy and that Alex and Kary should work together.

Justin will hold a fans gathering at the end of April, but he doesn’t know the location yet. Justin laughed and said he wants to hold the event in Philippines because ever since he was a guest performer at Lobo’s concert, there have been more Filipino fans asking him for his autograph.

From MingPao March 23:

Chung Yuen Electricity Co yesterday held the 80 year anniversary celebration at their New Town Plaza chain store. Singers Justin Lo, Alex Fong, Stephy Tang, Theresa Fu and Kary Ng all attended the celebration. Stephy and Theresa gave the company a cheese cake to congratulate them.

As the image boy of Chung Yuen Electricity Co, Justin Lo hopes to be sponsored a big fridge so that his mother is able to store a lot of food so that she can cook. As Mark Lui will become a father this year, Justin was asked if he wants to be the godfather of the child. Justin answered, “The most I can be is a god brother, I do not have what it takes to be a godfather.”

Just saying hello

Sorry about the lack of news, etc. my dears! I've been overwhelmed with all that's taking over my life right now i.e. studies and I haven't had the strength to keep up to date Justin-wise but I wanted to let you guys know that we haven't disappeared on you yet :)

But Justin merchandise wise... should you be looking to spend some money in that direction - the HKPOxJustin Philharmonic CD has been released so click here for it :) In addition, Happy Feet is out in Canto as well - with Justin voicing over for Mumble so click here.

Hello Teen Canners!

This is a strange one... haha, Justin and Cao Ge are on 988, convering amongst themselves in Mandarin, Cantonese and the ocassional English. It's quite interesting to hear how they met at the 8TV Summer Live concert and how Cao Ge had initially heard a lot about Justin and how amazing it would be if they collaborated. I'm still awaiting that day, really!

Isn't it fascinating how people just click when they meet ... just like kindred spirits?

From moving abroad when they were young... to working in production and backstage... and after a long, hard journey to the successful careers that they've got today...

The Birthday Project

As you all know, July will be here before you even know it!

So we're going to be getting a headstart on The Birthday Project 2007 - so people can start cracking their brains as to what to get! Of course, we're going to tell you what we have in mind :) This can be the preferred option but feel free to come up with more ideas (but keep in mind that postage is expensive, and anything too big or over-the-top will be difficult!)

First, the CLOSING DATE is 15th of June 2007.
Do EMAIL me or MSN me for the ADDRESS to send it to (this time it goes to Kenyadarling in HK!)

And now, THE PLAN.

The idea is that we're going for practical things... what's Justin going to do with heaps of soft toys, right?

Practical things that represent where you're from/based/at... so...

A CD. Of your local band... local music, be in a New Zealand band, an Australian singer, British, Swedish, Malaysian... (in any language)
Something that sounds like something Justin will like, something you don't think he'll readily get in HMV in HK or something.

This, hopefully, will inspire Justin in all genres of music :)

With that, A POSTCARD from where you're from/based/at... with stuff written on it!

And ATTACH YOUR BIRTHDAY MESSAGE IN THE CD ITSELF. Post-it notes, write on the CD sleeve... whatever works for you.

So remember a couple of things...

This CD version to the song it way better than the radio version, so hopefully to those of you who were pretty annoyed by it, will give it a second chance :) I'd have to admit I haven't really been listening to it enough, so it's not really stuck in my head (yet).

Justin Caught Flirting Outside a Bar?!

Okay, I'm posting this for amusement's sakes so don't get all worked up about it and please DO take this with a grain of salt. After all, the "poor" reporter hasn't had ANYTHING to write about Justin for the past few weeks, so the guy/girl decided to pick on our dear Justin.

And I had to Google Elanne Kwong - still don't have a clue who she is. For goodness sakes though, isn't Gia way too old news? I would be happy with a tiny news item on the upcoming release of the HKPOxJustin album but no, they decided that bumping into an acquaintance and saying hello is a massive headliner.

Then again, maybe Justin's just doing some research for his song-writing... i.e. some inspiration, perhaps? Haha!

Yesterday it was reported that Justin Lo was seen in front of a bar with 19 year old music industry newcomer, Elanne Kwong. Justin and his rumoured girlfriend, Gia Lin, were at a public event yesterday and despite the two refusing to be photographed together, Gia supported Justin by dismissing the claims while Justin denied the incident ever happening.

Justin was earlier caught wooing Elanne Kwong outside a bar causing him to be called a flirt. Yesterday, at the ‘IFPI Hong Kong Best Selling Albums Award Ceremony’ press conference, Justin and Gia were seen avoiding each other. When asked about the Elanne Kwong incident, Justin replied, “My assistant has shown me the report but I do not know Elanne Kwong, I have only heard of her. I have totally forgotten this had ever happened. The report was made up, on that night, I was with some childhood friends. On top of it all, I have just returned from overseas. After working in Canada, I flew to USA to visit my family and relatives. I had spent 2 weeks overseas.”

Regarding Justin refusing to be photographed with her, Gia commented, “I don’t want any problems as well. As friends, there is no need to make a show in front of everyone. Although being photographed together is some sort of news value, I don’t think there is a point in putting on a show. (Do you guys keep in contact?) Of course, we normally message each other. (Justin has love luck!) That is a good thing, as his friend I do want him to have love luck. (Do you feel that he has a lot of female friends?) What I feel is definitely not what is reported! When you see someone in public, of course you have to acknowledge them. It is also very normal to have a cuddle as a greeting.”

Hiya Teen Canners!

I bet you guys are wondering... why in the world am I posting a Cao Ge interview?! Well, for starters, Gary Cao is good friends with our dear Justin and they get along superbly! And in this interview, he talks about being friends with Mr. Lo and how amazingly POPULAR Justin is in Malaysia... (or South East Asia). He also sings a line or two from Meng Ngarn!

This is a hilarious bit... Gary was in New Zealand at one point and learnt how to speak Cantonese here. And those of you who don't know, Gary is from Malaysia (where I am from)... hehe!

So my dears, if you haven't listened to Gary Cao, you'd like him too - because he and Justin are pretty similar individuals! I'd love to hear a collaboration, won't you?

Justin has a new song...FINALLY (Well....more of like Kary's new song, you'll know what I mean when you listen to what the DJ said) I'm not sure if this song was composed by Justin.

The song is called "山歌". This is not the full version (at least i hope not, because it's so short!) so I can't really comment on it....but so far, i think it's pretty good. It's kind of catchy.....but i think i'll like it better if only Justin sang it. Kary sounds kinda different here, why is her voice so high? or is she usually like that? sorry...but i winced a couple of times.

Justin Encounters - Chapter 13 (Valentine Specials 14/2/07')

I guess u probably have a lot to enjoy about the HK Philharmonic concerts, so I won't elaborate much on it again but all I can conclude is it's jusssstttt sooooo breathtaking. The DVD will be a must buy item in yr collection when it's being released in June, as Justin told us.

So let me share with u something special about this Valentine's concert in Macau last night. The concert itself, of course another awesome 1, held in a cosy venue outdoor which could only accomodate 2000 guests. U can spot Justin so close up even u r sitting at the very last row :)) We bought tickets for the 2330 ferry back to HK & had this traffic jam, so only got to the departure hall at around 2317, oh my god. While we were dashing towards the immigration counter, I saw all these camera flash & gangs. Oops, then I saw some1 in cap. Guess what, we were taking the same ship back with Justin. On this special day, how could we miss a pic with him, so I asked, & so he said yes, kindly. And of course autographs followed.

Upon arrival, we walked him down to the pick up point. There's some other fans waiting already. Some1 asked for pics & at 1st Justin said only 1 could be taken coz he didn't want to keep his mum waiting. But ...... eventually he's far too kind & took with every1 waiting there. He broke this little fanz 's NDS cover while signing his name last week after the Philharmonic concert & guys, u know what he did? He bought a new 1(cover) for her, kept it in his car & gave it to her last night. Aweee, sooo sweet! And the point I would like to stress here is, he's such a promising great guy (he was trying to sort out the broken cover that evening but failed & said he would buy a new 1). From all these tiny bits & pieces, u can tell he's got such a wonderful character! Sooo, don't ever trust a single word of the papers & gossips about some1 until u really get to know them. Justin is indeed someone with a heart, not only to music, but also to people around him.......

And here's my absolute favourite :) I know I have many favourites but this tops the list - because Dream Away has never been sung Live and I've always found it such a quietly beautiful song, not the type of song you listen in a car as you're cruising down the road on the way to the beach but the type of song you wish you had somebody serenade you with, and then whispers "goodnight, sweet dreams" in your ear.

It sounds very dreamy with the orchestra!

Whew....this article was hard to translate. haha... but i chose this article to translate because it has more details. Sorry for my horrible translation.

Justin first came out wearing a white suit and red cap. Besides singing “我不是好人” and other songs of his own, he also sang other people’s songs, which include songs by Chilam Cheung, Jacky Cheung, and his idol, George Lam. At first Justin was nervous, singing wasn't good. He gradually returned to state of mind (i think that's what 漸入狀態 means) during the middle of the concert. During the concert, Justin expressed that there are many things that happened recently that made him unhappy. Many friends told him to learn to love himself, and then he’ll be able to let go and love others and be loved by others. But he knows he is not doing this well enough.

Justin and Joey Tang performed two songs together, “Erica” and “走音”. Another guest performer, Kary sang a Jacky Cheung song with Justin. After performing with the guest, Justin came out as a “black warrior” waving around the light saber in his hand. Lastly, he sang “好人”, “千億個夜晚” and “命硬”. When the concert was almost ending, Justin first thanked everyone who helped him in the industry, which is his manager, Paco. And of course he thanked his parents who especially went to Hong Kong to support him. He then ended the concert by singing “Kong”. Justin失準(read the first paragraph) during the first half of the concert, he laughed and said can you forget about the first half of the concert? He said that the feeling of satisfaction when he was on stage made him very excited, and this is something he can’t get in his usual daily life.

Reporters asked him whether it was relationship problems he hasn’t been able to let go of? Justin said that it was everything. He now has to learn to appreciate (appreciate or treasure). Someone pointed out that his rumored girlfriend Gia Lin did not show up (Man, shut up about rumors with Gia Lin already). Justin expressed that he will call Gia and his other friends because he really wants them to come.

It's just so annoying how they have to mention Gia Lin everytime. The title of this article is not "Justin-first performance with the HKPO" you know, instead the title of this article is "Justin's first show-Gia Lin did not show up". wth......

There are some things that were mentioned in other articles that weren't mentioned in this one. So I'm going to translate it and just list them here. =P

1. It was the first time he wore leather shoes in 10 years. And it was Mark Lui who forced him to wear it! haha.

If you read the last paragraph, the part where it says he has to learn to appreciate...if you're a little confused by what he meant....here's what he said according to the article from Singtao: "A lot of people love me, I don't know how treasure it. I have to learn how to give the same love to the people who love me. (You mean your girlfriend?) Everyone, not just girls".

Heya Teen Canners!

This will be the first of a series of In Love With blog posts, I'm sure. And I know you guys want to watch video clips and all, but so far there's only been one and the rest are photos galore! The photos look great though, because I always go weak in the knees and swoon when Justin's in a tux ;)

Here Justin sings the Sammi Cheng classic, 唯獨你是不可取替 and pulls it off effortlessly, as usual. For someone who looks at life from such a realistic (almost to the point of cynical) perspective, he manages to sing with such passion - the ability to put your all into something you love doing is a gift.

Justin Lo, the kid who once sang for Barbie and AXE dish detergent, is now an acclaimed singer-songwriter about to perform with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. He talks to Jan Leung about gangs, geeks and goals.

I was born in New York into a family of four. My family went back to Hong Kong when I was two.

I studied at St. Paul's. I was a good kid. Come on, I was in the choir!

I went to the States to further my studies. I hung out with my gang-like friends and did very, very bad things that I am not going to tell you about.

No, I did not kill anyone. As the saying goes. "A murderer is presumed innocent until he is proved guilty or insane!"

Education matters. There is less structure and discipline in the west and for me, the all-you-can-abuse freedom was too good to be true.

They encouraged us to think out of the box, or out of their mind...whatever you call it.

Schools in Hong Kong are like big science labs cloning students with the same formula. Individuality is basically a form of mutation.

Life's a bitch because it pisses you off all the time...but you love it anyway.

I went to the University of Washington. Bad judgement. They kicked my ass out.

I chose graphic design becasue it is easy and I just wanted to graduate.

I worked at Yahoo! In San Francisco. It is a nice place with a lot of trees and geeks.

I was not a geek but I hung out with a bunch of them. We would get overexcited by new technology like a new palm or search engine.

OK, I was a converted geek at best.

There was not much to do at work. I spent more time playing piano instead.

One day when I was driving home from work. I was suddenly alarmed by the possibility that I was going to live a boring life for the rest of my existence.

That was one of the most important wake-up moments in my life. Realization like this is rare..I don't want to wake up when I hit 40, married and with three kids. I would feel so trapped.

Hearing Cantopop, I thought to myself " I can do better that that crap!" So I decided to come back.

When I returned to HK, I started cold-calling adn mailing tapes to different music publishers.

Reponse was immediate " Thank you for your tapes, we'll let you know"

I finally signed a contract with Mark Lui and the first year was hell. There wasn't much work and I was generating an income that the government was too embarrassed to tax me on.

Earning money was hard. Blood and tears mean nothing unless a song is sold - and by the time you are paid, you have almost forgotten the song.

I am a singer-songwriter, but others define me as the flashy, idol kind of male singer. It is strange and bothering.

I eat when I am dead hungry and I sleep when I am dead tired. Time doesn't mean much to me.
I would rather listen to white noise in my free time than pop music.

I hate taking photographs. I don't need a hard copy of everything. The past usually looks nicer in your head.

Posing in front of the camera with the cheesy smile and stiff posture is just weird.

The media wants me to be a pervert for some strange reason.
I don't deserve to be badmouthed but I don't deserve to have this flu either. What can you do about it?

Nothing is forever, including love. It is the moment that counts.

Everyone is responsible for their own happiness. Placing this duty onto others is the most dangerous thing to do.

It is hard to find one's goal becasue it is usually the goal that find you.

Mine found me at 26. I am lucky.

Some people may not find their goal, some may find theirs but never have the chance to realize them.

If I didn't get kicked out of school. I wouldn't have met my exgalfriend. If I hadn't been dumped by her. I wouldn't have started writing songs. If I didn't write any songs, I wouldn't have condiered working in this industry.

Life has laid out a plan for you so just go with the flow. Desperation drives things away.

Doing a show with the Philharmonic Orchestra is another way of saying "Justin, you can sing" I am happy.

Recently there was an imposter in Mainland that claimed that he is Justin’s manager and cheating people’s money by saying that he was seeking a sponsor for a Guangzhou concert in May. Yesterday when Justin was at the radio station he expressed that the staff just found out about this. He said that this type of deceitful act is wrong and that person will get his comeuppance. This was the first time someone dared to impersonate Paco Wong. As for his advice in preventing people from being cheated, Justin believes that Paco Wong’s face and voice is not easy to impersonate, and he said that he has no plans yet on holding a concert in Mainland because he haven’t released a Mandarin album yet.

During the radio interview, Justin also revealed his feelings to the host, 查小欣. He honestly said that he likes working “mok hou” (back stage) more than being in front stage. He said he will never be able to deal with front stage people and situations, but he also really loves to sing. When asking him if he was tired of hearing about fighting for awards in award ceremonies, he denied it because it’s like this every year. But what’s weird is that he gets insulted when the results (“成績”, it means grades or something like that) are good and is liked when results are bad.
